RHEL Engineering is moving the tracking of its product development work on RHEL 6 through RHEL 9 to Red Hat Jira (issues.redhat.com). If you're a Red Hat customer, please continue to file support cases via the Red Hat customer portal. If you're not, please head to the "RHEL project" in Red Hat Jira and file new tickets here. Individual Bugzilla bugs in the statuses "NEW", "ASSIGNED", and "POST" are being migrated throughout September 2023. Bugs of Red Hat partners with an assigned Engineering Partner Manager (EPM) are migrated in late September as per pre-agreed dates. Bugs against components "kernel", "kernel-rt", and "kpatch" are only migrated if still in "NEW" or "ASSIGNED". If you cannot log in to RH Jira, please consult article #7032570. That failing, please send an e-mail to the RH Jira admins at rh-issues@redhat.com to troubleshoot your issue as a user management inquiry. The email creates a ServiceNow ticket with Red Hat. Individual Bugzilla bugs that are migrated will be moved to status "CLOSED", resolution "MIGRATED", and set with "MigratedToJIRA" in "Keywords". The link to the successor Jira issue will be found under "Links", have a little "two-footprint" icon next to it, and direct you to the "RHEL project" in Red Hat Jira (issue links are of type "https://issues.redhat.com/browse/RHEL-XXXX", where "X" is a digit). This same link will be available in a blue banner at the top of the page informing you that that bug has been migrated.

Before this fix, the Preupgrade Assistant incorrectly left some untracked configuration files intact, although these were on a list of files which should have been backed up. This no longer occurs with a new Preupgrade Assistant version.

Red Hat Product Errata RHEA-2016:2618 0 normal SHIPPED_LIVE preupgrade-assistant-el6toel7 bug fix and enhancement update 2016-11-03 16:23:57 UTC

Description Tereza Cerna 2015-11-12 14:52:54 UTC
Several configuration files are missing in /root/preupgrade/dirtyconf directory. Files are in $PATH/noverifycfg, not in $PATH/verified_blacklist and exist in system. Problem is that this files are owned by more packages.

PATH="/usr/share/preupgrade/RHEL6_7/backup/NoverifyConfigs"

List of concerned files:
/etc/crypttab
/etc/gai.conf
/etc/selinux/targeted/modules/active/seusers.final
/etc/selinux/targeted/modules/active/users_extra
/etc/selinux/targeted/seusers

See log from test case for /etc/crypttab:
:: [   LOG    ] :: File /etc/crypttab exists on this system
:: [   PASS   ] :: File 'cleanconfList' should not contain '/etc/crypttab'
:: [   FAIL   ] :: File 'dirtyconfList' should contain '/etc/crypttab'

Comment 1 Tereza Cerna 2015-11-12 15:00:28 UTC
Affected packages:
  preupgrade-assistant-2.0.3-12.el6.x86_64
  preupgrade-assistant-contents-0.6.33-1.el6.noarch
  redhat-upgrade-tool-0.7.41-1.el6.noarch

Comment 8 Tereza Cerna 2016-10-11 12:10:51 UTC
Failed QA.

There are three untracked file which are not saved in cleanconf, neither in dirtyconf

Untracked files:
  /etc/selinux/targeted/modules/active/seusers.final
  /etc/selinux/targeted/modules/active/users_extra
  /etc/selinux/targeted/seusers

Comment 9 Petr Stodulka 2016-10-11 22:49:35 UTC
Fixed. It was caused mainly by unexpanded globs and unread last lines of the input files. Now it should be completely OK.

This was resolved by patch file. Changes in upstream will be merged next cycle.
