Description of problem: After some time of being booted all USB devices disconnect (keyboard and mouse) and at that point all USB devices are dead. Unplugging them and plugging them back in does nothing. The system is running still, I can ssh in and reboot or shut down. Precision T1700 machines. I complained to Dell thinking it was a hardware problem and they swapped the motherboard on one of them. Same issues. Occurs under Fedora 21 and Fedora 22. Steps to Reproduce: 1. Boot up. 2. Wait. (a few hours, seems somewhat random, doesn't depend on if you are using the device or not.) 3. Actual results: USB disconnects all devices. Can't interact with machine. Expected results: keyboard mouse continue to work Additional info: Bus 004 Device 001: ID 1d6b:0002 Linux Foundation 2.0 root hub Device Descriptor: bLength 18 bDescriptorType 1 bcdUSB 2.00 We are using a program called ocsinventory which triggers this bug. I haven't had the time to investigate what component of ocsinventory agent wrecks USB or why only on T1700's (that I can find.)
Fedora 22 changed to end-of-life (EOL) status on 2016-07-19. Fedora 22 is no longer maintained, which means that it will not receive any further security or bug fix updates. As a result we are closing this bug. If you can reproduce this bug against a currently maintained version of Fedora please feel free to reopen this bug against that version.
