Description Tim Wegener 2016-02-02 14:00:23 UTC
Description of problem:

The system becomes unresponsive to mouse clicks when an external monitor is connected (along with dmesg errors), and only becomes responsive again once the monitor has been disconnected.

Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable):

kernel-4.2.8-200.fc22.x86_64
xorg-x11-drv-intel-2.99.917-15.20150729.fc22.x86_64
cinnamon-2.6.13-10.fc22.x86_64

How reproducible:

Happens every time.

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Plug in external monitor using VGA cable.

Actual results:

Big delay after plugging in monitor via VGA cable.
Then goes into mirror mode.
The system becomes unresponsive to mouse clicks, i.e. won't register any clicks.
After disconnecting the monitor, the system becomes responsive to mouse clicks again.
Errors appear in dmesg output (see further below).

Expected results:

The system should be responsive regardless of whether the external monitor is connected.

The external monitor should be able to be configured in non-mirror mode.

Additional info:

This is the first time I've tried using an external monitor with this laptop.

System: TOSHIBA Satellite Pro R50-C

Note that it works fine if an external monitor is connected via HDMI (DVI).
