Additional info: I am considering installing the old version of sysstat, since I am currently trying to do performance tuning, and need this output.
Hi - can you check out the (unsupported) sysstat-5.0.5 in http://people.redhat.com/sysstat and verify that it addresses this problem. If so, you are best to roll back your sysstat until this new one is released in a supported update. Thanks!
I get a 404 error with that link. Can you please check your spelling? Thanks, Bruce
I figured out, by guessing, that the link s/b: http://people.redhat.com/ccb/sysstat Good guess for me!! I will give it a whirl, and let you know.. Thanks, Bruce
Yes, this new version works fine now! I will now backport to the older, supported version, until an Errata is released. Any idea when an errata will be released for sysstat? Thanks, Bruce
FYI: When I backport to the sysstat-4.0.1-15.2.1as the log file in /var/sa/sa08 (in this case) is unreadable in the older version. i.e. The sysstat-5.0.5-3.i386 version produces a sa file that is unreadable by sysstat-4.0.1-15.2.1as. My work around/fix was to delete the file, and run the cron entry manually to create a new file that sysstat-4.0.1-15.2.1as can read. - Bruce
Release planned for next udpate. (U6) Tentative Erratum RHBA-2004:503
An errata has been issued which should help the problem described in this bug report. This report is therefore being closed with a resolution of ERRATA.
