Description of problem: Freshly installed Fedora 23 on my Samsung 535u3c laptop and closing lid for suspend does not work like on F20. On F20 I could change what to do with the closing of the lid in power management and this worked flawlessly. This is not possible in F23. Even tried to change /etc/systemd/logind.conf HandlePowerKey=suspend HandleSuspendKey=suspend HandleHibernateKey=hibernate HandleLidSwitch=suspend HandleLidSwitchDocked=suspend LidSwitchIgnoreInhibited=no Only thing that is working is that the power button suspend the laptop and it awakens it as it should. It just does not suspend or anything when closing the lid. Even checked gnome-tweak-tool and power, "Dont suspend on lid close" is off and does nothing. I have no idea on what to do now. This is a freshly installed Fedora 23 with latest updates. Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable): How reproducible: Steps to Reproduce: 1. 2. 3. Actual results: Expected results: Additional info:
I confirm I have the exact same situation (except that my laptop is new so no idea if it worked in F20). My laptop is F550ZE-XO204T. It's curious that when I close the lid, the screen turns off, but it does not get suspended; and when I open the lid, it turns on finely. I did not try anything with /etc/systemd/logind.conf.
This message is a reminder that Fedora 23 is nearing its end of life. Approximately 4 (four) weeks from now Fedora will stop maintaining and issuing updates for Fedora 23. It is Fedora's policy to close all bug reports from releases that are no longer maintained. At that time this bug will be closed as EOL if it remains open with a Fedora 'version' of '23'. Package Maintainer: If you wish for this bug to remain open because you plan to fix it in a currently maintained version, simply change the 'version' to a later Fedora version. Thank you for reporting this issue and we are sorry that we were not able to fix it before Fedora 23 is end of life. If you would still like to see this bug fixed and are able to reproduce it against a later version of Fedora, you are encouraged change the 'version' to a later Fedora version prior this bug is closed as described in the policy above. Although we aim to fix as many bugs as possible during every release's lifetime, sometimes those efforts are overtaken by events. Often a more recent Fedora release includes newer upstream software that fixes bugs or makes them obsolete.
Still happens
In F25 I mean.
