What is the result when --allowerasing is specified? Perhaps call dnf with --allowerasing and without the '-y' argument, so we can just see what it outputs before the prompt.
Stef, I think the problem has gone away... I could not recreate it. Sigh... To err is human, to get things really screwed up requires a computer. Thanks for looking at the problem! George...
Strange. I'll keep an eye out for this in the future. It may also have been a dnf, yum or Fedora meta data problem.
