Description M.Hanny Sabbagh 2016-02-27 10:08:40 UTC
Description of problem:

When you connect to a server and you try to use both the mouse's left-click and right-click at the same time, non of them works, normally, if you use both clicks, you should shoot and hook at the same time.

This bug is making playing the game very limited.

Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable): 0.6.3-4

How reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Download the game.
2. Run the game, connect to any server.
3. Click using the right-click and the left-click at the same time anywhere.

Actual results:
1- Nothing happens, not the shooting nor the hooking.

Expected results:
1- Both the shooting and the hooking should have happened at the same time.

I tested this on my laptop, and it may be input device specific. When I click left and right on my touchpad, it only shoots, whereas with my USB mouse, it shoots and hooks. Can you confirm?

Comment 2 M.Hanny Sabbagh 2016-03-01 18:01:34 UTC
On my laptop, both the touchpad and the USB mouse clicks don't do anything at all.

Comment 3 M.Hanny Sabbagh 2016-03-30 07:20:31 UTC
Is there anything new about this bug?

Comment 4 Igor Gnatenko 2016-08-08 11:56:44 UTC
definitely not a bug in teeworlds.

Comment 5 Peter Hutterer 2016-08-14 21:54:08 UTC
libinput does middle button emulation when the left/right buttons are pressed simultaneously. I suspect this is what is happening here. Whether emulation is enabled by default largely depends on the device.

Hanny, what's the evemu-describe output of your mouse? On most mice we have it disabled by default if they announce a middle button.

Comment 8 Peter Hutterer 2016-09-22 06:53:46 UTC
this one should *not* have middle button emulation enabled by default (run sudo libinput-list-devices to be sure, should be "disabled"). do you enable middle button emulation somewhere? what's the output of xinput list-props " USB OPTICAL MOUSE"

Comment 9 Fedora End Of Life 2016-11-24 15:47:34 UTC
This message is a reminder that Fedora 23 is nearing its end of life.
Approximately 4 (four) weeks from now Fedora will stop maintaining
and issuing updates for Fedora 23. It is Fedora's policy to close all
bug reports from releases that are no longer maintained. At that time
this bug will be closed as EOL if it remains open with a Fedora 'version'
of '23'.

Package Maintainer: If you wish for this bug to remain open because you
plan to fix it in a currently maintained version, simply change the 'version'
to a later Fedora version.

Thank you for reporting this issue and we are sorry that we were not
able to fix it before Fedora 23 is end of life. If you would still like
to see this bug fixed and are able to reproduce it against a later version
of Fedora, you are encouraged change the 'version' to a later Fedora
version prior this bug is closed as described in the policy above.

Although we aim to fix as many bugs as possible during every release's
lifetime, sometimes those efforts are overtaken by events. Often a
more recent Fedora release includes newer upstream software that fixes
bugs or makes them obsolete.

Comment 10 Fedora End Of Life 2016-12-20 19:04:00 UTC
Fedora 23 changed to end-of-life (EOL) status on 2016-12-20. Fedora 23 is
no longer maintained, which means that it will not receive any further
security or bug fix updates. As a result we are closing this bug.

If you can reproduce this bug against a currently maintained version of
Fedora please feel free to reopen this bug against that version. If you
are unable to reopen this bug, please file a new report against the
current release. If you experience problems, please add a comment to this
bug.

Thank you for reporting this bug and we are sorry it could not be fixed.
