Red Hat are focused on providing a robust and reliable application platform in OpenShift Container Platform - an enterprise Kubernetes distribution - and reference architectures for deploying this using best practices on a variety of infrastructure footprints including OpenStack ( https://access.redhat.com/articles/2743631 ). As well as the linked reference architecture we provide supporting Heat templates and Ansible playbooks to automate and achieve the same type of deployment.

The Magnum project is focused on delivery of Container Orchestration Engines (COE) as a service, using Heat, with subsequent interactions with the resulting clusters being via the native interfaces of the relevant COEs.

Given the overlap both in terms of the mechanisms used to deploy and result
Red Hat do not intend to provide product support for Magnum at this time. We are instead focused on continuing to streamline the process for deploying OpenShift Container Platform on OpenStack, and improving the integration between the two while following our "upstream first" development methodology.

RHOSP customers are of course able to overlay the RDO packages for Magnum on their installation, but should be aware that these components are community supported.
