Lennart Poettering has a range of user interface bugs that have persisted over a period of several years, which are in turn having a significant impact on systemd and by extension on Linux in general. I'd like to propose a series of patches to try and mitigate these, which perhaps could also be applied to second banana Kay Sievers, who exhibits many of the same UI bugs as Poettering. These patches would include changes to remove the God-mode bit ("you're clueless, we know better than you"), enable them to listen to users, and have them play nicely with others. I'm sure there are a large list of other bugs that need to be patched as well, but addressing these ones would make for a good start.
