Description Rhys Oxenham 2016-03-03 09:45:00 UTC
Description of problem:

Documentation bug where the instructions for installing OSP8 (beta7) with OSP director suggest that the user should install python-rdomanager-oscplugin rather than python-tripleoclient. Unfortunately, python-rdomanager-oscplugin does not exist, and there's no deprecation warnings, so it fails to find the package. The documentation should be updated to reference python-tripleoclient instead.

Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable):

OSP8 director, beta7

How reproducible:

Every time by utilising current beta7 documentation.

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Install RHEL7 as per usual for the OSP director machine
2. Subscribe to RHEL7.latest repositories, and add in beta channels
3. Attempt to install python-rdomanager-oscplugin
4. Observe that the package cannot be found as it's referencing the incorrect package.

Actual results:

----

3.5. Installing the Director Packages

Use the following command to install the required command line tools for director installation and configuration:

[stack@director ~]$ sudo yum install -y python-rdomanager-oscplugin

This installs all packages required for the director installation.

----

Expected results:

----

3.5. Installing the Director Packages

Use the following command to install the required command line tools for director installation and configuration:

[stack@director ~]$ sudo yum install -y python-tripleoclient

This installs all packages required for the director installation.

----

Additional info:

See private comments for links to internal documentation.

Upstream documentation specifies the correct package...

Closing this BZ and we have published the GA version of the docs and the package name should be correct:
