Description of problem: When I'm in X session and press Ctrl+Alt+F2, I expect to get a text-mode login session Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable): kernel-4.4.3-300.fc23.x86_64 xfwm4-4.12.3-2.fc23.x86_64 xorg-x11-server-Xorg-1.18.0-2.fc23.x86_64 xorg-x11-drv-intel: built from git (git://git.freedesktop.org/git/xorg/driver/xf86-video-intel) How reproducible: consistent Steps to Reproduce: 1. Boot & log into X session 2. Press Ctrl+Alt+F2 3. Actual results: Boot log is shown: ... [ OK ] Reached target Switch Root. Starting Switch root... _ <--cursor Expected results: Expect to see a text-mode login prompt Additional info: * Switching to another one (+F3, +F4...) doesn't show any activity on the screen * Switching back to X session keeps input (keyboard, mouse) frozen for a second or two * On shutdown, something gets stuck. Pressing Alt+SysRq + R, E, I works (kills whatever is stuck), but there's no feedback on the monitor, only the boot log is shown

Fedora 23 changed to end-of-life (EOL) status on 2016-12-20. Fedora 23 is no longer maintained, which means that it will not receive any further security or bug fix updates. As a result we are closing this bug. If you can reproduce this bug against a currently maintained version of Fedora please feel free to reopen this bug against that version.
