Description of problem: Rpm jbossas-standalone-7.5.7-2.Final_redhat_3 is missing in the jbossas-standalone.spec file notation: %config(noreplace) for standalone/standalone-osgi.xml configuration file. As a result - with change in this configuration file which comes in 6.4.7.CP.CR2 build, the file gets overridden if it was previously edited by user. Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable): 6.4.7.CP.CR2 How reproducible: always Steps to Reproduce: 1. install current live version of EAP 2. edit standalone/standalone-osgi.xml configuration file 3. run yum update to update packages to 6.4.7.CP.CR2 build Actual results: File gets overridden Expected results: File is not touched by update if it was modified Additional info:
Is this a regression or is it something that have been there since EAP 6.0.1 and just detected now? If it is not a regression I suggest fixing in 6.4.8 and avoid another schedule slip.
This file was added in 6.1.0 Release date 2013-May-20 (shipped date) So 3 years ago. So it has always been like that since EAP 6.1.0. Not a regression. OSGi was a Tech Preview and since them we dropped OSGi completely. I am not even sure why we still ship this file really. I suggest that this file be removed starting from 6.4.8.
Fixed in distgit, will be in 6.4.8 CR1.
For some reason my last comment changed the blocker flag to "?", but I am unable to change it back to "-", the only options are blank and "?" for me. Can someone please change the blocker flag bak to "-"? Thanks!
Verified with EAP 6.4.8.CP.CR2.
Retroactively bulk-closing issues from released EAP 6.4 cumulative patches.
