Jan,

The synchronization host has gone away in 6.2 and has been replaced by inter-server sync.

As of right now, https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=1285244#c71 has a link to the current version of the docs on how to set it up.

If this answers your question, let me know and we can mark this BZ as duplicate of the docs bz.

Hello

I am reviewing what we have to see how someone moving from Sat5 to Sat6 could discover this.

The Architecture Guide, in the section "Disconnected Satellite"[1], as this "Disconnected Satellite with Inter-Satellite Synchronization" option with a link to the Red Hat Satellite Content Management Guide.

It does not have the phrase "synchronization host" (and I am not suggesting it should as that is a Sat5 term).

The Content Management Guide[2] has these words:

Red Hat Satellite 6.2 uses Inter-Satellite Synchronization (ISS) to synchronize content between upstream and downstream servers. In the context of ISS, upstream refers to the server from which content is exported; downstream refers to the server into which content is imported.

The Transition Guide does not have the phrase "synchronization host" anywhere. I looked through the chapter "Comparing Satellite 5 and Satellite 6" [3]

The section "Disconnected Content Management"[4] seems a good place to try and add something. I will ask Rich Jerrido for his thoughts on adding some text to that section.

I notice the transition guide has its own glossary of terms.[4]

I thought we only have the one in the Architecture Guide[5]

If we plan to keep [4] then we could put a Sat5 term there if really necessary.
