Description of problem: There are currently two operations on dashboard widgets: 'Close' 'Minimize' These two functions seem to provide the same functionality with some small differences: * closed/minimized widgets are 'grouped' in 2 different buckets * minimizing requires you to click 'save' to persist across refreshes I can't seem to reason the purpose of the minimize functionality and I believe it is more confusing to have both there. Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable): 6.2 Snap 5:
Created redmine issue http://projects.theforeman.org/issues/14492 from this bug

Yes it is still valid, although others may disagree with the complaint.
@rohoover, follwing your comment on, https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=1315853, could you please look at this as well from the UX perspective? I have a feeling the whole close/minimize/save/restore workflow on the dashboard should be rethought as it evolved to its current situation without too much planning.
Here are some thoughts: 1) They are effectively doing the same thing now, it's confusing. 2) If you want to maintain minimize, then I would suggest the content area collapse, and a header with a title, expand and close option remain. 2a) Remove the restore function, as now collapsed header serves this purpose. 3) Close will remove the pane. Keep the add widget in the drop down. 4) The title in the header currently does not match what appears in the drop down. Preferably they would be the same text. 5) I ran into a couple bugs where the dashboard would reset itself when I scrolled to the bottom.
Moving this bug to POST for triage into Satellite 6 since the upstream issue http://projects.theforeman.org/issues/14492 has been resolved.
