Note: This bug is displayed in read-only format because the product is no longer active in Red Hat Bugzilla.
Red Hat Satellite engineering is moving the tracking of its product development work on Satellite to Red Hat Jira (issues.redhat.com). If you're a Red Hat customer, please continue to file support cases via the Red Hat customer portal. If you're not, please head to the "Satellite project" in Red Hat Jira and file new tickets here. Individual Bugzilla bugs will be migrated starting at the end of May. If you cannot log in to RH Jira, please consult article #7032570. That failing, please send an e-mail to the RH Jira admins at rh-issues@redhat.com to troubleshoot your issue as a user management inquiry. The email creates a ServiceNow ticket with Red Hat. Individual Bugzilla bugs that are migrated will be moved to status "CLOSED", resolution "MIGRATED", and set with "MigratedToJIRA" in "Keywords". The link to the successor Jira issue will be found under "Links", have a little "two-footprint" icon next to it, and direct you to the "Satellite project" in Red Hat Jira (issue links are of type "https://issues.redhat.com/browse/SAT-XXXX", where "X" is a digit). This same link will be available in a blue banner at the top of the page informing you that that bug has been migrated.

Description Peter Healy 2016-03-24 21:10:53 UTC
Title: Installing a Red Hat Satellite Capsule Server

Describe the issue:
subscription-manager register --org "your organization"
Has a space in the name, which fails

# yum install katello-installer cyrus-sasl-plain
The katello-installer provides the capsule-installer functionality while cyrus-sasl-plain is required for pulp.

Is not correct, the capsule-installer package is what contains capsule-installer and conflicts with the katello-installer package

Suggestions for improvement:
Change the syntax for registration to include an underscore where the space is
Change the package from katello-installer to capsule-installer

Additional information:

Comment 2 Peter Healy 2016-04-13 17:42:42 UTC
The syntax presented on this documentation page for registering a capsule server to an Organization doesn't make clear that the space needs to be replaced with an underscore.

The section where this documentation page indicates to install katello-installer to provide the capsule-installer package is not correct. capsule-installer is supplied in the capsule-installer package.

Assigning to Ali for review.

Ali - I believe the item regarding the organization name is no longer an issue in the 6.2 beta documentation, but would you be able to comment on the packaging?

Hi Peter,

I believe that both of your concerns have been addressed. The installer has been updated as well.
