metalink support was added a while back to wget[1]. It would be nice if we enabled it in Fedora. This should be achievable with the --with-metalink option to ./configure and adding libmetalink-devel as buildrequires. Please also consider adding gpgme-devel as buildrequires so we can get automatic pgp signature verification. gpg support would also benefit from having version 0.1.3 of libmetalink in Fedora [2] because of a bug that was causing some parsing to break.
