Description of request: Commonly OpenShift is used to build custom images using S2I and source code, store them in-house and run on nodes. We also provide Jenkins for CI workflows. It would be a good addition to provide a GitLab image so that users can store their code inside OpenShift without having to use external code management solutions. Additional info: GitLab is a web-based Git repo manager, It already has Docker images available upstream: https://hub.docker.com/r/gitlab/gitlab-ce/
Another alternative would be to provide Pagure which is a Fedora project with pretty much the same goals: https://pagure.io/pagure
I am taking this RFE to be a request for OOTB git hosting more so than a specific request for GitLab.
This customer is using a Gitlab from Docker Hub in Production. Unfortunately, this image is not supported by Red Hat once is based on Ubuntu distribution. Is there a chance to make this image available from Red Hat repositories inside this FY18?

This is something we don't supply ourselves.
Closing as no work will occur on our side. We'll continue to work with Gitlab to provide this image for OpenShift customers.
