Red Hat Bugzilla – Bug 1322944
RFE: add containerized compute support to OSP director
Last modified: 2016-05-03 11:32:29 EDT
This bug serves as a permission grant to rebuild containers for ospd8.
Note that this particular rebuild is just a trial run, so I'm not sure the QA ack or PM ack means much in this case. But they still need to be done so I can proceed with rebuilding.
This bug did not make the OSP 8.0 release. It is being deferred to OSP 10.
bugzilla mistakenly moved to OSP10
Ignore comment 2 I made, this is for GA. Here are all the brew task links: 'openstack-base-docker-8.0-13': 'http://brewweb.devel.redhat.com/brew/taskinfo?taskID=10811617' 'openstack-data-docker-8.0-11': 'http://brewweb.devel.redhat.com/brew/taskinfo?taskID=10813387' 'openstack-dependencies-docker-8.0-12': 'http://brewweb.devel.redhat.com/brew/taskinfo?taskID=10811845' 'openstack-heat-docker-agents-docker-8.0-18': 'http://brewweb.devel.redhat.com/brew/taskinfo?taskID=10814076' 'openstack-neutron-base-docker-8.0-11': 'http://brewweb.devel.redhat.com/brew/taskinfo?taskID=10813512' 'openstack-neutron-openvswitch-agent-docker-8.0-11': 'http://brewweb.devel.redhat.com/brew/taskinfo?taskID=10813706' 'openstack-nova-base-docker-8.0-12': 'http://brewweb.devel.redhat.com/brew/taskinfo?taskID=10812071' 'openstack-nova-compute-docker-8.0-12': 'http://brewweb.devel.redhat.com/brew/taskinfo?taskID=10812407' 'openstack-nova-libvirt-docker-8.0-13': 'http://brewweb.devel.redhat.com/brew/taskinfo?taskID=10813053' 'openstack-openvswitch-base-docker-8.0-11': 'http://brewweb.devel.redhat.com/brew/taskinfo?taskID=10813760' 'openstack-openvswitch-db-server-docker-8.0-11': 'http://brewweb.devel.redhat.com/brew/taskinfo?taskID=10813879' 'openstack-openvswitch-vswitchd-docker-8.0-11': 'http://brewweb.devel.redhat.com/brew/taskinfo?taskID=10813980' All of these container builds need to be placed on registry.access.redhat.com. My understanding is this is a manual process, so the expected name is what I have above with the "-docker" part dropped.

Since the problem described in this bug report should be resolved in a recent advisory, it has been closed with a resolution of ERRATA. The command time openstack overcloud deploy --debug --templates local --libvirt-type qemu --ntp-server clock.redhat.com --neutron-network-type vxlan --neutron-tunnel-types vxlan --control-scale 1 --control-flavor controller-d75f3dec-c770-5f88-9d4c-3fea1bf9c484 --compute-scale 1 --compute-flavor compute-b634c10a-570f-59ba-bdbf-0c313d745a10 -e /usr/share/openstack-tripleo-heat-templates/environments/network-isolation.yaml -e ~/my_templates/network-environment.yaml -e ~/my_templates/net-three-nics-with-vlans.yaml --log-file overcloud_deployment_40.log -e local/environments/docker.yaml -e local/environments/docker-network-isolation.yaml -e local/environments/docker-network.yaml --timeout 120 | tee log is not able to finish until the timeout of 120 minutes. As fhubik says, there must be some problem with the network.
The same happened without the -e /usr/share/openstack-tripleo-heat-templates/environments/network-isolation.yaml
Jaroslav - I've tried reproducing this and *have* consistently seen a stack failure when using the --ntp-server option (puppet errors). Can you try redeploying without that option? If this clear things up, I can probably handle it from here. If you're still experiencing an issue, I'd like to verify that without network isolation the issue still exists and we'll go from there. It may not hurt to go ahead and upload any custom templates (my_templates) you're using.
Also, this problem really should probably be described in another bug. But we'll wait to see what the results of the above request is first.
If this is a real problem, please clone or file a new bug. Bugs that are closed errata cannot be reused for additional fixes.
