Current version of Sphinx in EPEL7 is a couple years old. If possible please update the package to latest release 2.2.10.
I don't have any machines that run EPEL so cannot test, therefore I decided not to maintain. However - the good news is that Sphinx provides and supports RPMs for RHEL/CentOS. You can obtain them here: http://sphinxsearch.com/downloads/release/

Please clarify.

Please clarify. They will be if no one adopts the packages within the next 10 days.
