Note: This bug is displayed in read-only format because the product is no longer active in Red Hat Bugzilla.
RHEL Engineering is moving the tracking of its product development work on RHEL 6 through RHEL 9 to Red Hat Jira (issues.redhat.com). If you're a Red Hat customer, please continue to file support cases via the Red Hat customer portal. If you're not, please head to the "RHEL project" in Red Hat Jira and file new tickets here. Individual Bugzilla bugs in the statuses "NEW", "ASSIGNED", and "POST" are being migrated throughout September 2023. Bugs of Red Hat partners with an assigned Engineering Partner Manager (EPM) are migrated in late September as per pre-agreed dates. Bugs against components "kernel", "kernel-rt", and "kpatch" are only migrated if still in "NEW" or "ASSIGNED". If you cannot log in to RH Jira, please consult article #7032570. That failing, please send an e-mail to the RH Jira admins at rh-issues@redhat.com to troubleshoot your issue as a user management inquiry. The email creates a ServiceNow ticket with Red Hat. Individual Bugzilla bugs that are migrated will be moved to status "CLOSED", resolution "MIGRATED", and set with "MigratedToJIRA" in "Keywords". The link to the successor Jira issue will be found under "Links", have a little "two-footprint" icon next to it, and direct you to the "RHEL project" in Red Hat Jira (issue links are of type "https://issues.redhat.com/browse/RHEL-XXXX", where "X" is a digit). This same link will be available in a blue banner at the top of the page informing you that that bug has been migrated.

As mentioned in 1324111, CTRL+F already works for this. Additionally, if you click inside the treeview, and just start typing, it looks like the default treeview settings will also behave similarly to CTRL+F (typing will make the treeview jump to and select a matching repository). Is that sufficient functionality for this RFE?

For reference, I verified mentioned behavior in:
subscription-manager-gui-1.16.8-8.el6.x86_64
subscription-manager-gui-1.15.9-15.el7.x86_64

Hi Kevin,

I did a little bit of testing around this bug 1324111 , here is my observations

1) CTRL +F works only if you give the same text ex: rhel-7-server-openstack will highlight the matching repository. but NOT when you search for just "openstack" --> this should be working

2) to add to point 1 , when a user look for a word ex: "openstack" , all the repos containing the repos should *only* be displayed in the tree view ( this is how text search filter in "all available subscriptions" tab works today)

3) To highlight matching text the repos containing the match should be highlighted in "BOLD" ( this is to keep the behaviour uniform across all tabs , as described above)

2) A way to go 'Next' and 'Previous' match should be working --> today that feature is not there.

also to give little bit background about the bug 1324111 , this bug was to point out that we never had a search/filter option available on the 'Manage repositories' window but upon giving CTRL+F the search filter appeared some how.

hope this helps.

thanks,
Rehana
