Description of problem: The issue is with MATE as a "complete" environment install, not an option under the Component pull-down list on this bugzilla site; thus, I just chose one MATE "component". When one loads the EPEL repo into EL7 gpk-application, etc. so that the repo is "searched", MATE appears in the side list, but not as a unified ("clickable") set of packages. One must hunt through the entire "main" list to find all MATE components, not all of which are in the same part of the list. This is tedious. Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable): How reproducible: Completely Steps to Reproduce: 1.Install the EPEL repo RPM 2.Run the software package installer (gpk-application) 3.Look for MATE Actual results: Expected results: Additional info:
1. Mate isn't a official desktop in rhel, for this reason you don't see it at rhel site. 2. You need to use 'yum groupinstall mate-desktop', see http://wiki.mate-desktop.org/download?&#red_hat_enterprise_linux_7 You can also use yumex as package-manager GUI which can install yum groups.
