Description Oliver Ilian 2016-04-06 10:50:30 UTC

anaconda_entropy_1_count

Description of problem:
When you press random keys during the entropy generation in text install, the entropy decreases several times (see screenshot) and also goes over 100%

Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable):
anaconda-21.48.22.56-1.el7.x86_64.rpm

How reproducible:
at all text installs

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Install a RHEL 7 with anaconda-21.48.22.56-1 (I did it via kickstart file and PXE)
2. wait for anaconda to ask for the entropy
3. press random keys on the keyboard

Actual results:
percentage jumps up and down and gets over 100%

Expected results:
percentage should only go up and stop when reached 100%

Comment 3 Brian Lane 2016-05-26 23:01:55 UTC
This is perfectly normal. Depending on what's happening on the system the entropy pool may not increase linearly. It displays more than 100% because it has exceeded the minimal amount needed to setup luks encryption.
