Created attachment 1144619 [details] dnf.rpm.log screenshoot Description of problem: since this morning, the password requester for unlocking the SSH password for encrypted key, does no longer function. I get the requester, enter the unlock password, and it stops doing anything. Abort is the only clickable option, which as to be repeated 2 times to get out of the requester. Same happens for the keyring unlock requester if you have your desktop account set to autologin and have to enter your account password. Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable): gnome-keyring.x86_64 3.18.3-1.fc23 gnome-keyring-pam.x86_64 3.18.3-1.fc23 gnome-python2-gnomekeyring.x86_64 2.32.0-22.fc23 libgnome-keyring.x86_64 3.12.0-5.fc23 libgnome-keyring-devel.x86_64 3.12.0-5.fc23 How reproducible: 100% survives reboots and restarts of the keyring daemon. Steps to Reproduce: 1. ssh -i keyfile user@server 2. requester opens 3. password entered 4. nothing happens Things i tried: a) DID NOT HELP reinstalling the python-rsa rpm, which got installed last night and afterwards dnf log show only a bunch of \0 zeros in the dnf.rpm.log . b) DID NOT HELP starting the keyring daemon in foreground .. no signs of any error message and did not help at all. but at least, if it does not run, i can access my servers again! c) reinstalling the above mentioned rpms # dnf reinstall libgnome-keyring-devel libgnome-keyring gnome-python2-gnomekeyring gnome-keyring-pam gnome-keyring Last metadata expiration check: 0:31:43 ago on Thu Apr 7 09:51:59 2016. You may wanne give this bugreport to dnf maintainers, after you checked it. the drive had 20GB free diskspace, so thats not the cause of the filesize zero for the lib.
This message is a reminder that Fedora 23 is nearing its end of life. Approximately 4 (four) weeks from now Fedora will stop maintaining and issuing updates for Fedora 23. It is Fedora's policy to close all bug reports from releases that are no longer maintained. At that time this bug will be closed as EOL if it remains open with a Fedora 'version' of '23'. Package Maintainer: If you wish for this bug to remain open because you plan to fix it in a currently maintained version, simply change the 'version' to a later Fedora version. Thank you for reporting this issue and we are sorry that we were not able to fix it before Fedora 23 is end of life. If you would still like to see this bug fixed and are able to reproduce it against a later version of Fedora, you are encouraged change the 'version' to a later Fedora version prior this bug is closed as described in the policy above. Although we aim to fix as many bugs as possible during every release's lifetime, sometimes those efforts are overtaken by events. Often a more recent Fedora release includes newer upstream software that fixes bugs or makes them obsolete.
Fedora 23 changed to end-of-life (EOL) status on 2016-12-20. Fedora 23 is no longer maintained, which means that it will not receive any further security or bug fix updates. As a result we are closing this bug. If you can reproduce this bug against a currently maintained version of Fedora please feel free to reopen this bug against that version. If you are unable to reopen this bug, please file a new report against the current release. If you experience problems, please add a comment to this bug. Thank you for reporting this bug and we are sorry it could not be fixed.
