Note: This bug is displayed in read-only format because the product is no longer active in Red Hat Bugzilla.
Red Hat Satellite engineering is moving the tracking of its product development work on Satellite to Red Hat Jira (issues.redhat.com). If you're a Red Hat customer, please continue to file support cases via the Red Hat customer portal. If you're not, please head to the "Satellite project" in Red Hat Jira and file new tickets here. Individual Bugzilla bugs will be migrated starting at the end of May. If you cannot log in to RH Jira, please consult article #7032570. That failing, please send an e-mail to the RH Jira admins at rh-issues@redhat.com to troubleshoot your issue as a user management inquiry. The email creates a ServiceNow ticket with Red Hat. Individual Bugzilla bugs that are migrated will be moved to status "CLOSED", resolution "MIGRATED", and set with "MigratedToJIRA" in "Keywords". The link to the successor Jira issue will be found under "Links", have a little "two-footprint" icon next to it, and direct you to the "Satellite project" in Red Hat Jira (issue links are of type "https://issues.redhat.com/browse/SAT-XXXX", where "X" is a digit). This same link will be available in a blue banner at the top of the page informing you that that bug has been migrated.

Description Mike McCune 2016-04-07 15:57:07 UTC
Current upstream Pulp and Katello uses Mongo 2.6.11 which has numerous stability, security and performance improvements over 2.4. There is a specific vulnerability here:

https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=1200446

that we also would like to get with a move to 2.6.11 or later.

Anything we can do to improve the performance Pulp in Satellite 6.2 should be done and there are significant improvements to be had

A related RFE for a move to 3.0 is here but can be done at a later date:

https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=1295741

Verified with sat6.2 GA snap 10.1

I don't see "mongodb-2.6.11-1.el7sat" installed with 6.2 snap10. Snap10 installed with:

~]# rpm -qa | grep mongodb
mongodb-2.4.9-3.el7sat.x86_64
mongodb-server-2.4.9-3.el7sat.x86_64

Also, I didn't find 2.6.11 version of mongodb under snap10 repo URL.

Comment 6 Bryan Kearney 2016-05-16 16:37:13 UTC
Delivered with Snap 11

mongodb-2.6.11-2.el7sat.x86_64.rpm
mongodb-server-2.6.11-2.el7sat.x86_64.rpm
