Description of problem:

Timeline code is really old and needs to be refactored or replaced completely.  Currently is encounters a lot of overlap making it pretty ugly for customers.  It really breaks down when there are a high number of VMs and containers in play.  We could improve some of this with better out of the box filters but the code needs a major overhaul.
