Created attachment 1147847 [details] screenshot of dialog with bad sizing and overlapping widgets Description of problem: Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable): gtk3-3.20.3-1.fc24.x86_64 gnome-abrt-1.2.3-3.fc24.x86_64 How reproducible: always if this dialog shows up. Steps to Reproduce 1. run into a bug, that is unreportable, e.g. a segfault crash in your own python program 2. try to report bug 3. when it fails, look at the dialog it displays. Text says "Processing failed." Log: --- Running report_uReport --- Unable to open './pkg_epoch': No such file or directory. reporter-ureport failed with exit code 1 ('report_uReport' exited with 1) info message below log: Processing of the problem failed. This can have many reasons but there are three most common: […] Actual results: Dialog is visually broken, not displaying all of its text. This is worse for localized dialogs with longer texts (i.e. German). Expected results: don't crop text to a fixed dialog size. Additional info: On wayland, after losing and re-gaining focus, window is sized correctly. This only happens since updating to 3.20.1, with 3.20.0 it stayed broken. Haven't tested on X11.

This is actually part of libreport so I move this to the right component to draw right people's attention. Note that similar problems were reported as bug 1021276 and bug 1135067 against older Fedora releases but have reached EOL status before being fixed. This looks like a separate issue in GTK which probably has been fixed if you report that the bug appears in 3.20.0 but not in 3.20.1. There were much works porting GTK widgets to CSS recently.
Created attachment 1303289 [details] Screenshot of report window, on X11 Issue still present on Wayland with gtk3-3.22.17-2.fc26.x86_64 gnome-abrt-1.2.5-4.fc26.x86_64 libreport-2.9.1-2.fc26.x86_64 abrt-2.10.3-1.fc26.x86_64 On X11, this bug is also present, but instead of drawing text outside of the window, it is being cropped at the bottom edge.
This message is a reminder that Fedora 24 is nearing its end of life. Approximately 2 (two) weeks from now Fedora will stop maintaining and issuing updates for Fedora 24. It is Fedora's policy to close all bug reports from releases that are no longer maintained. At that time this bug will be closed as EOL if it remains open with a Fedora 'version' of '24'. Package Maintainer: If you wish for this bug to remain open because you plan to fix it in a currently maintained version, simply change the 'version' to a later Fedora version. Thank you for reporting this issue and we are sorry that we were not able to fix it before Fedora 24 is end of life. If you would still like to see this bug fixed and are able to reproduce it against a later version of Fedora, you are encouraged change the 'version' to a later Fedora version prior this bug is closed as described in the policy above. Although we aim to fix as many bugs as possible during every release's lifetime, sometimes those efforts are overtaken by events. Often a more recent Fedora release includes newer upstream software that fixes bugs or makes them obsolete.
