Description Fabian Deutsch 2016-04-18 09:48:36 UTC
Description of problem:
ovirt-release36-snapshot requires ovirt-release36 - But if the package is getting installed directly, then this is a problem, because the repository which contains the ovirt-release36 rpm is only getting installed when ovirt-release36-snapshot is getting installed.

The workaround is to install both rpms (ovirt-release36 and ovirt-release36-snapshot) at the same time.
But this is bad, because for Node we agreed that only one rpm is required.

The solution would be to make ovirt-release36-snapshot self contained, and let it not depend on ovirt-release36.

This bug directly affects the ovirt-3.6 NGN builds.

root@fc24# dnf install http://resources.ovirt.org/pub/yum-repo/ovirt-release36-snapshot.rpm
Error: nothing provides ovirt-release36 needed by ovirt-release36-snapshot-007-1.noarch

Comment 2 Red Hat Bugzilla Rules Engine 2016-05-09 22:53:10 UTC
Target release should be placed once a package build is known to fix a issue. Since this bug is not modified, the target version has been reset. Please use target milestone to plan a fix for a oVirt release.

Comment 3 Sandro Bonazzola 2016-05-17 07:07:13 UTC
You should use the -pre version, not yet released: http://resources.ovirt.org/pub/ovirt-3.6-pre/rpm/el7/noarch/ovirt-release36-snapshot.rpm
