Description of problem: After upgrading a 3 controllers with ceph storage backend deployment from 7.3 -> 8 2 cinder-scheduler binaries show up for the 'hostgroup'(one of them is down): +------------------+------------------------+------+---------+-------+----------------------------+-----------------+ | Binary | Host | Zone | Status | State | Updated_at | Disabled Reason | +------------------+------------------------+------+---------+-------+----------------------------+-----------------+ | cinder-scheduler | hostgroup | nova | enabled | down | 2016-04-18T12:23:20.000000 | - | | cinder-scheduler | hostgroup | nova | enabled | up | 2016-04-18T19:43:13.000000 | - | | cinder-volume | hostgroup@tripleo_ceph | nova | enabled | up | 2016-04-18T19:43:14.000000 | - | +------------------+------------------------+------+---------+-------+----------------------------+-----------------+ My tests haven't revealed an actual issue caused by this but I'd expect to have a single hostgroup cinder-scheduler binary, as it shows on a fresh 7 or 8 deployment. Hi Marius, Closing this one as it's very old and osp7->8 upgrade. May have been fixed since then. If it's still an issue, don't hesitate to re-open the bug.
