Description of problem: I need jq 1.5 on EL6 to be able to use some functionality of 1.5 which is not present in 1.3 (e.g. functions "join" or "startswith") Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable): 1.3 How reproducible: yum info jq Actual results: 1.3 Expected results: 1.5 Additional info: Already present in EPEL7
Unfortunately depends on oniguruma, which isn't in EPEL 6.
*** Bug 1395749 has been marked as a duplicate of this bug. ***
Oniguruma is in base EL6. Please proceed with updating EPEL6's jq to the latest version. I would like to use the "join" function as well.
I just requested permission in pkgdb, if you add me I'll build the package for EPEL 6.
pkgdb is dead (in read-only mode). You will probably need to request access in https://src.fedoraproject.org/rpms/jq
Or maybe you can fork it and send a pull request as documented in https://docs.pagure.org/pagure/index.html
A pull request doesn't make any sense. I just desire the master branch to be merged into the el6 branch, and then a build+update submitted.
