Description Chrit van Ewijk 2016-05-01 19:43:28 UTC
Description of problem:
I start up Emacs normally with "emacs -nw" in gnome terminal.
I discovered that Emacs 24 has a new feature for dropping down menus in text based consoles It can be invoked by "M-x menu-bar-open" and is usually bound to the F10 key.
But when i press F10 while working in emacs i get the "File" drop down menu of the gnome terminal.

If it is not a bug ? can make a request ?

That's a gnome-terminal feature. In the menu, go to Edit -> Preferences -> General and untick the "Enable the menu accelerator key" checkbox.
