Description Mike Kinney 2004-09-24 16:17:11 EDT
Description of problem:
Certance LTO Ultrium tape drive (Model number: STU62001LW) is not
detected at the OS level. It is detected at the hardware level,
though. (i.e., boot messages) Certance support claims that there is a
pending certification on the tape drive. The Adaptec 29160 card is
detected just fine. (lspci | grep 29160="02:02.0 SCSI storage
controller: Adaptec AIC-7892A U160/m (rev 02)")

Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable):
2.4.21-20.ELsmp #1 SMP Wed Aug 18 20:46:40 EDT 2004 i686 i686 i386
GNU/Linux

Also tried on Red Hat Enterprise Linux ES (2.4.21-15.0.4.ELsmp)
 but to no avail.

Steps to Reproduce:

Is there anything I can do to help this process along?

Hmm... several reboots (and weeks) later... it does detect it.
