Not sure if this is virgl, kernel, qemu, spice, or something else... Update to date f24 host and guest, configured with spice gl. Run supertuxkart in the VM. If selecting 'story mode' the game becomes unresponsive on the 'loading' screen. If selecting 'single player' the game becomes unresponsive on the character select screen, presumably trying to render the character vehicle previews. Note the music is still playing this whole time so it doesn't seem that the game completely locks, there just isn't any way to interact with it anymore. 100% reproducible for me. No relevant stderr messages in the libvirt qemu log file. Switching the video card to 'qxl' and rebooting the VM makes supertuxkart work, albeit with an opengl warning and choppy graphics.
(I can reproduce too, couldn't find anything obvious though, I would start digging supertux in gdb next time I look at it)
Fixed by the following patch: https://lists.freedesktop.org/archives/mesa-dev/2016-June/119699.html It would be nice to backport to f24, moving to mesa
