Description of problem:
Some necessary development 64-bit libraries are not available
on the ppc64 release of Red Hat Enterprise Linux 3.
For example the following libraries are not available:
A Red Hat engineer informs me that an openldap-devel-*.ppc64
package will need to be created (alongside
openldap-devel-*.ppc). The package should be built something like
rpmbuild --rebuild --target ppc64 openldap-devel*.src.rpm
The request asks for that package to be created and made available.
This is needed to successfully create 64-bit applications.

Just making you guys aware of this. It may mean the closing
of this request along similar lines.
Note, without the above 64-bit development packages 64-bit
binary production is made difficult.
This bug is filed against RHEL 3, which is in maintenance phase.
During the maintenance phase, only security errata and select mission
critical bug fixes will be released for enterprise products. Since
this bug does not meet that criteria, it is now being closed.
