I'm on it. I'll see what's the deal. I suspect it was built from the wrong upstream branch.
Also traffic forwarding over SSH-tunnel was broken about a couple of weeks ago. It is probably related with kernel upgrade and also affects Fedora 23. So you can manually create local and remote TUN-devices in point-to-point mode and assign IP addresses but remote IP does not answer to pings.
Client side has no issues related to kernel version. The last working kernel on server side is 4.4.9-300.fc23, later versions have problems with traffic forwarding over SSH-tunnel.
