Note: This bug is displayed in read-only format because
the product is no longer active in Red Hat Bugzilla.
RHEL Engineering is moving the tracking of its product development work on RHEL 6 through RHEL 9 to Red Hat Jira (issues.redhat.com). If you're a Red Hat customer, please continue to file support cases via the Red Hat customer portal. If you're not, please head to the "RHEL project" in Red Hat Jira and file new tickets here. Individual Bugzilla bugs in the statuses "NEW", "ASSIGNED", and "POST" are being migrated throughout September 2023. Bugs of Red Hat partners with an assigned Engineering Partner Manager (EPM) are migrated in late September as per pre-agreed dates. Bugs against components "kernel", "kernel-rt", and "kpatch" are only migrated if still in "NEW" or "ASSIGNED". If you cannot log in to RH Jira, please consult article #7032570. That failing, please send an e-mail to the RH Jira admins at rh-issues@redhat.com to troubleshoot your issue as a user management inquiry. The email creates a ServiceNow ticket with Red Hat. Individual Bugzilla bugs that are migrated will be moved to status "CLOSED", resolution "MIGRATED", and set with "MigratedToJIRA" in "Keywords". The link to the successor Jira issue will be found under "Links", have a little "two-footprint" icon next to it, and direct you to the "RHEL project" in Red Hat Jira (issue links are of type "https://issues.redhat.com/browse/RHEL-XXXX", where "X" is a digit). This same link will be available in a blue banner at the top of the page informing you that that bug has been migrated.

It works for me through the iLO.
Note that XTerm uses Athena Widgets (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/X_Athena_Widgets)
so you have to use:
- left mouse button scrolls down
- middle mouse button scrolls to mouse position
- right mouse button scrolls up
Dragging the mouse does nothing.

mxie, can you take another look at this when RHEL 7.4 is in testing?
I believe it should work if you use the correct mouse buttons (comment 2).
Try to verify the bug with build:
virt-p2v-1.36.3-1.el7.iso
Steps:
Scenario1:
1.1 Control Dell machine PEM915 via virtual console
1.2 Boot machine into p2v client via iso
1.3 Open xterm and input command #lspci to make the scrollbar adjustable
Result:
1.1 Xterm's scrollbar can't work via clicking left mouse button
1.2 Xterm's scrollbar can work using middle-button of mouse
Scenario2:
2.1 Control HP machine DL380eg8 via virtual console
2.2 Boot machine into p2v client via iso
2.3 Open xterm and input command #lspci to make the scroll bar adjustable
Result:
2.1 Xterm's scrollbar can't work via clicking left mouse button
2.2 Xterm's scrollbar can't work using middle-button of mouse
Scenario3:
3.1 Control IBM machine x3850x5 via virtual console
3.2 Boot machine into p2v client via iso
3.3 Open xterm and input command #lspci to make the scroll bar adjustable
Result:
3.1 Xterm's scrollbar can't work via clicking left mouse button
3.2 Xterm's scrollbar can work using middle-button of mouse

I'm fairly sure this is going to be NOTABUG, or a bug in XTerm,
or a bug in the remote terminal software. In any case I'm
moving to RHEL 7.5.
Also could reproduce the bug with virt-p2v-1.38.2-1.el7.iso
1.Scroll bar still can't work in Xterm if open physical machine via virtual console and boot into p2v client
2.Scroll bar also can't work in credits dialog box so that can't see all names if open physical machine via virtual console and boot into p2v client
3.Scroll bar works well if boot into p2v client using guest
