Error Report

I've noticed recently that every time I open my laptop lid after having it closed for some time (sometimes several minutes, sometimes several hours) I am greeted with a "Problem was detected" notification at the GDM login screen. If I check the problem report it states "The kernel log indicates that hardware errors were detected" and the report is not able to be submitted.

I have not noticed any loss in functionality, I simply see these unsubmitted error reports.

My laptop is a Lenovo x260 running Fedora Workstation 24 and configured to *not* suspend when the laptop lid is closed. These reports begin with Linux Kernel 4.6.5-300.fc24.x86_64.

Since I cannot submit the error report I have copied the info to a plain text file and attached it to this bug report.

*********** MASS BUG UPDATE **************

We apologize for the inconvenience. There is a large number of bugs to go through and several of them have gone stale. Due to this, we are doing a mass bug update across all of the Fedora 24 kernel bugs.

Fedora 24 has now been rebased to 4.7.4-200.fc24. Please test this kernel update (or newer) and let us know if you issue has been resolved or if it is still present with the newer kernel.

If you have moved on to Fedora 25, and are still experiencing this issue, please change the version to Fedora 25.

If you experience different issues, please open a new bug report for those.

*********** MASS BUG UPDATE **************
This bug is being closed with INSUFFICIENT_DATA as there has not been a response in 4 weeks. If you are still experiencing this issue, please reopen and attach the relevant data from the latest kernel you are running and any data that might have been requested previously.

Just installed Fedora 26 and all available kernel updates. Problem still occurs exactly as described.

It appears the laptop is not sleeping when the lid is closed (based upon the battery drain).

I am happy to provide any additional information that may be helpful to resolve this issue.

We apologize for the inconvenience. There is a large number of bugs to go through and several of them have gone stale. The kernel moves very fast so bugs may get fixed as part of a kernel update. Due to this, we are doing a mass bug update across all of the Fedora 26 kernel bugs.

Fedora 26 has now been rebased to 4.15.4-200.fc26. Please test this kernel update (or newer) and let us know if you issue has been resolved or if it is still present with the newer kernel.

If you have moved on to Fedora 27, and are still experiencing this issue, please change the version to Fedora 27.

If you experience different issues, please open a new bug report for those.

I have moved on to Fedora 27, where the problem appears to have been resolved.
