Description Andrei Stepanov 2016-08-30 15:24:22 UTC
https://access.redhat.com/documentation/en/red-hat-virtualization/4.0/single/administration-guide/#The_Storage_Pool_ManagerSPM

Wrong sentences are:

"""The Storage Pool Manager (SPM) is a role given to one of the hosts in the data center...""""

And

"""The SPM entity can be run on any host in the data center;"""

And

"""... only one host can be the SPM in the data center"""

As I know, SPM is assigned per "Cluster", not per "Data center".

All above sentences are wrong, because the talk is about "Data center" but should be about "Cluster".

Please consult with some who can approve my guesses.

Comment 1 Andrei Stepanov 2016-08-30 15:28:53 UTC
As a result, section about "SPM" should be moved from "3. Data Centers" to "4. Clusters".

Comment 2 Lucy Bopf 2016-09-01 06:40:53 UTC
Assigning to Tahlia for review.

Comment 3 Tahlia Richardson 2016-09-05 06:36:14 UTC
On the other hand, storage domains, which the SPM manages, are assigned per data center. So I think the current docs are correct. I will check, though.

Yaniv, can you confirm whether the SPM role is given to one host per cluster, or one host per data center (or redirect to the best person to answer)?

Comment 4 Yaniv Lavi 2016-09-13 11:48:30 UTC
The comments are not correct. SPM is a DC role. Closing as not a bug.
