Description Radek Bíba 2016-09-05 13:37:02 UTC
Description of problem:
There have been cases recently where a mail from RHBZ contains a space character in the subject while bug summary doesn't contain it in that place. A quick look at the raw mail shows a line break followed by a few spaces on the next line.

Two examples:

1, bug 1372624:
Summary: Can't add a loadbalancer instance in RHUI 3 on RHEL 6 because the haproxy package isn't available
Mail subject displayed in the Zimbra web UI: [Bug 1372624] Can' t add a loadbalancer instance in RHUI 3 on RHEL 6 because the haproxy package isn 't available
Raw subject: [Bug 1372624] Can'
t add a loadbalancer instance in RHUI 3 on RHEL 6 because the haproxy
 package isn
  't available

2, bug 1373082:
Summary: SELinux is preventing /usr/libexec/colord from read access on the file /etc/udev/hwdb.bin.
Mail subject displayed in the Zimbra web UI: [Bug 1373082] SELinux is preventing /usr/libexec/ colord from read access on the file /etc/udev/hwdb.bin.
Raw subject: [Bug 1373082] SELinux is preventing /usr/libexec/
colord from read access on the file /etc/udev/hwdb.bin.

Both bugs are reported by me. I typed the summary of bug 1372624 by hand, and I copied the SELinux denial for the other bug from sealert. I can't think of any reason why the text should break this way on my side in either case.

Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable):
Production RHBZ as of today.

How reproducible:
I don't know. I haven't tried filing bugs with the same summaries, but I'll keep an eye on my Bugzilla mail folder.

Can you attach the full email or forward one to me?

I see this issue again today:

Subject: [Bug 1377258] New:
rhui-manager crashes if the hostname of a CDS or LB instance which is being
 added can
  't be resolved

Comment 4 Matt Tyson 🤬 2016-09-29 05:51:16 UTC
This seems to be a bug in Email::MIME. We're currently running on RHEL6 which uses a pretty old version.

This works fine on Bugzilla 5 in RHEL7, which has a much newer version of Email::MIME.

As we are in the process of migrating to BZ5/RHEL7 we'll leave this for the BZ5 release.

Cool, thanks for the update.
