Description Tomas Hudziec 2016-09-06 09:14:43 UTC
Filed from caserun https://tcms.engineering.redhat.com/run/288293/#caserun_13122649

Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable):
xorg-x11-drv-nouveau-1.0.11-4.el7.x86_64

Steps to Reproduce:
 1. Make sure that your graphics driver supports KMS.
 2. Make sure you have rhgb quiet options in kernel commandline and no
nomodeset option - this is the default in Client and Workstation variants
 3. Boot up

Actual results:
Between the time of circle based progress bar and logging screen there blinks white screen with colourful pixels for cca 0,25 second.

Expected results:
 1. Make sure the whole booting process is correct and smooth, without any
graphic fragments nor unaligned text/logos. There should be circle progress
bar in the middle of the display instead of the text-based progress bar.

The bug does not occur at rebooting, only at powering on. It appears on both monitors, when 2 monitors are connected.

The white screen with colourful (mostly pink) pixels is probably some bitmap from the memory. Once, when I encountered some graphical crash due to hotplugging monitors, there was screen from crash (broken image of desktop and windows) instead of that white screen.

Happened also after rebooting.

"Crashed" screen blink happened also before starting graphical portion of the anaconda installer.
