If I take a look at https://github.com/nodejs/LTS#lts_schedule, the support for 0.10 will end at the end of the month. I would prefer that epel will migrate to 6.X
We are looking into ways to get EPEL to 6.x already[1]. Unfortunately, there are some potential issues with upstream, as it strictly requires functionality from OpenSSL 1.0.2 and RHEL/CentOS 7 has only OpenSSL 1.0.1 (even in the 7.3 beta). This is a sensitive component, so we're not really keen on the idea of bundling it in (which carries its own problems regarding patented codecs, etc.). In short: this is being investigated, but it's Really Complicated™ [1] https://lists.fedoraproject.org/archives/list/nodejs@lists.fedoraproject.org/thread/63GFTKEFZWAVXFNMFAQVGRKH7GAM3JNH/

What is the current state for EPEL 6?
EPEL 6 will require a little more work, I'll look into that.
