Description Marcel Ribeiro Dantas 2016-09-08 15:59:23 UTC
Description of problem:
`dnf grouplist` lists the available group packages. I wanted to install MATE Compiz, available there so I ran `dnf groupinstall 'MATE Compiz'. Lots of packages were installed, but even after that, having logged out, there was no option to log in with MATE.

Eventually, I did `dnf groupinstall mate-applicatoins` and `dnf groupinstall mate-desktop` and everything worked out ok. The option to log in with MATE in the login screen was there, and problem solved. I think the first option should have already done what my last two dnf commands did.

Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable):
1.15.1

How reproducible:
Installing the group package MATE Compiz.

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Fedora 25 Alpha with GNOME
2. `sudo dnf groupinstall -y 'MATE Compiz'`
3. Log out, and try to log in with MATE.

Actual results:
MATE was not offered for logging in.

Expected results:
MATE being an option just like GNOME to log in.

For Mate + Compiz do

dnf groupinstall 'MATE Desktop' && dnf groupinstall 'MATE Applications' && dnf groupinstall 'MATE Compiz'

Well, maybe i should rename 'MATE Compiz' to Compiz

Comment 2 Marcel Ribeiro Dantas 2016-09-08 16:52:57 UTC
You're right, my mistake.

At https://spins.fedoraproject.org/pt_BR/ the MATE Desktop Environment spin is said to be "Fedora MATE Compiz". I guess that led me to believe that "MATE Compiz" was the full DE to be used.

I think renaming MATE Compiz to Compiz in the group packages may solve the confusion.

Thanks for the quick response!
