Description Coty Sutherland 2016-09-08 20:09:34 UTC
Description of problem:
The /usr/sbin/tomcat6 script is broken because it doesn't load any tomcat configuration files before trying to use tomcat-defined environment variables.

Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable):

How reproducible:
tomcat6-6.0.24-95.el6.noarch

Steps to Reproduce:
1. yum install tomcat6
2. `tomcat6 start` or `tomcat6 version` to observe the failure

Actual results:
# tomcat6 start
/usr/sbin/tomcat6: line 30: /logs/catalina.out: No such file or directory
# tomcat6 version
Error: Could not find or load main class org.apache.catalina.util.ServerInfo

Expected results:
tomcat6 starts correctly

Additional info:
This is a direct result of the solution for https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=636997 (the lines that load config are commented out). I pushed a fix into epel-6/tomcat which is pertinent here (https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=1104704), so I'll likely do the same thing to resolve this. That fix can be found here: http://pkgs.fedoraproject.org/cgit/rpms/tomcat.git/commit/?h=el6&id=694a006
