Description Bryan Gurney 2016-09-09 19:57:11 UTC
Document URL: https://access.redhat.com/documentation/en-US/Red_Hat_Enterprise_Linux/7-Beta/pdf/7.3_Release_Notes/Red_Hat_Enterprise_Linux-7-Beta-7.3_Release_Notes-en-US.pdf

Section Number and Name: "Chapter 42. Storage" and "Chapter 58. Storage"

Describe the issue:

In the release notes document for "Red Hat Enterprise Linux 7.3 Beta", there are two chapters with the heading "Storage":

"Chapter 42. Storage", with items:
- lvm2 now supports RAID-level takeover
- Multi-queue IO scheduling for SCSI
- Targetd plug-in from the libStorageMgmt API
- DIF/DIX [support for SCSI devices]

"Chapter 58. Storage", with items:
- No support for thin provisioning on top of RAID in a cluster
- When using thin-provisioning, it is possible to lose buffered writes to the thin-pool if it reaches capacity

Suggestions for improvement: Merge the items from "Chapter 42. Storage" and "Chapter 58. Storage" into one chapter.

Additional information: (none)

Comment 2 Lenka Špačková 2016-09-12 12:27:24 UTC
Hello Bryan,
Thanks for reporting this. However, this is not a bug. There are several parts in the Release notes focused on, for example, New Features, Technology Previews, or Known Issues. Each part contains the same set of chapters - as long as there is at least one description that fits in that topic.

So there are actually 3 chapters called Storage:

17. Storage - in part I. New Features
42. Storage - in part III. Technology Previews
58. Storage - in part IV. Known Issues

and there will likely be a Storage chapter in part II. Notable Bug Fixes when we add descriptions of bug fixes related to Storage.

It is more prominent in the table of contents in the HTML version of the book:
