Description of problem:
The login screen is unresponsive

I can ssh to the machine but I am unable to login using the GUI.
I installed RHEL 7.3 Snapshot 2 (3.10.0-500.el7.x86_64) using
yum update (full upgrade) over VMware Fusion.

I can switch to command line login using CTRL-ALT-F2 and it works
just fine.
