Note: This bug is displayed in read-only format because the product is no longer active in Red Hat Bugzilla.
Red Hat Satellite engineering is moving the tracking of its product development work on Satellite to Red Hat Jira (issues.redhat.com). If you're a Red Hat customer, please continue to file support cases via the Red Hat customer portal. If you're not, please head to the "Satellite project" in Red Hat Jira and file new tickets here. Individual Bugzilla bugs will be migrated starting at the end of May. If you cannot log in to RH Jira, please consult article #7032570. That failing, please send an e-mail to the RH Jira admins at rh-issues@redhat.com to troubleshoot your issue as a user management inquiry. The email creates a ServiceNow ticket with Red Hat. Individual Bugzilla bugs that are migrated will be moved to status "CLOSED", resolution "MIGRATED", and set with "MigratedToJIRA" in "Keywords". The link to the successor Jira issue will be found under "Links", have a little "two-footprint" icon next to it, and direct you to the "Satellite project" in Red Hat Jira (issue links are of type "https://issues.redhat.com/browse/SAT-XXXX", where "X" is a digit). This same link will be available in a blue banner at the top of the page informing you that that bug has been migrated.

Statement made under "Lighter-Weight Capsules" i.e

"The Red Hat Satellite Capsule Server can be configured to store only the content that has been requested by its clients. This reduces the storage needed by the Satellite Capsule. "

Seems incorrect. This does use the lazy-sync option (on demand) which is a 'tech preview'.
The lazy-sync option is set at the repo level and not at the capsule level.
So in this case 'on demand' has to be set for a given repository across all capsules and the satellite.

How reproducible:

Steps to Reproduce:

3.

Actual results:
Statement made about Satellite capsule

Expected results:
The statement should be corrected and mention only satellite or should state that this can be configured at repo level.

Comment 3 Stephen Wadeley 2016-09-29 09:25:29 UTC
Hello

A change is now live on the customer portal[2].

Do I need to add "Tech preview in 6.2"?

Comment 4 Stephen Wadeley 2016-09-29 09:38:08 UTC
I found "Download Policy" for a repo via a Product page, so seems lazy sync is there in 6.2

Comment 10 Stephen Wadeley 2016-11-03 09:44:43 UTC
Hello

re comment 3

We need to update the release notes because:

 Steve Bream 2016-10-11 11:38:21 EDT

Confirming that Lazy Sync is out of tech preview and will be a supported feature as of 6.2.3.
