Upstream text: * If you want to verify hosts match with certificates via ServerAltname IPAddress fields, you need to install the `ipaddress module`_. backports.ssl_match_hostname will continue to work without ipaddress but will only be able to handle ServerAltName DNSName fields, not IPAddress. System packagers (Linux distributions, et al) are encouraged to add this as a hard dependency in their packages. Added in newest 3.5 release.
Looks like this was added in 973d0bb57 back in Dec 2015. http://pkgs.fedoraproject.org/cgit/rpms/python-backports-ssl_match_hostname.git/commit/?id=973d0bb57851819094c4eacb0702710ecd593c67 http://pkgs.fedoraproject.org/cgit/rpms/python-backports-ssl_match_hostname.git/commit/?id=6e16f4ed7c7bc764196ab7a1c1cf33139dd57310 That release is available in Rawhide and Fedora 25-23, so I think we're good to go. Please re-open this if that is not the case.
