Description Jonathan Stowe 2016-10-03 15:48:35 UTC
Description of problem:

The script 'prj2make' (part of mono-devel) is installed, but the underlying mono executable is not installed

$ prj2make
Cannot open assembly '/usr/lib/mono/4.5/prj2make.exe': No such file or directory.

I guess the .exe file isn't being added to the rpm build file.

Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable):

rpm -q --whatprovides /usr/bin/prj2make
mono-devel-4.2.4-2.fc24.x86_64

How reproducible:

Install the mono-devel package

Steps to Reproduce:
1. attempt to run prj2make from command line
2.
3.

Actual results:

"Cannot open assembly '/usr/lib/mono/4.5/prj2make.exe': No such file or directory."

Expected results:

Should prompt for correct command line.

Additional info:

Comment 1 Timotheus Pokorra 2016-10-03 16:09:58 UTC
https://bugzilla.xamarin.com/show_bug.cgi?id=12391 says:

"Per: http://lists.ximian.com/pipermail/mono-devel-list/2008-February/027074.html
Maybe this tools should be removed"

Suggestion is to use MonoDevelop instead of prj2make.

So we should remove the 2 files still referencing it from the mono package:
/usr/bin/prj2make
/usr/share/man/man1/prj2make.1.gz

Comment 2 Timotheus Pokorra 2016-10-10 21:02:23 UTC
I have dropped prj2make from the package in rawhide to avoid confusion.
