Description yousifjkadom@yahoo.com 2016-10-05 18:57:06 UTC
Description of problem:

I installed "Desktop Capture 1.05" to the panel of my Fedora cinnamon 24 X64. But it crash my cinnamon desktop when I used it to record !

Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable):

version 1.05 of Desktop Capture applet.

How reproducible:

ust after installation of Applet - when I look to it in "add applets to the panel" - I saw warning circle inside it (!) stand alongside applet: applet on my left hand & (!) on my right side. When I put mouse pointer over this mark, a box opened show the following message:

"This extension utilizes system calls that could potentially cause your desktop to slow down or freeze in some hardware configurations. If you experienced anything like this, try disabling this extension & restarting Cinnamon."

When I just started to use this applet for recording from screen it led to crash my cinnamon. However, just by log out cinnamon return healthy then I uninstalled this Applet.

Steps to Reproduce:
1.
2.
3.

Actual results:

Crash my cinnamon DE

Expected results:

Record from screen without crash

Additional info:

My laptop is Lenovo ThinkPad e550 with:

- intel CORE i7-5500U @ 2.40 GHz X 2
- RAM 8 GB
- 1 TB hard drive disk
- build in (motherboard well integrated) intel HD Graphics 5500

Please notice that dedicated VGA AMD Radeon R7 M265 not supported till now. About this please review bug 1375517

But even dedicated VGA not worked, this bug should not occur with remaining monster specifications.
