A regression has been introduced in lvm2-2.02.166-1.el7 (Red Hat Enterprise Linux 7.3 GA) that caused an inability to run the lvconvert --repair command in cache origin logical volumes properly, resulting in "Cannot convert internal LV" message. The mentioned regression has been fixed and the ability to perform the lvconvert --repair command on cache origin is now reinstated.

This bug has been copied from bug #1380532 and has been proposed
to be backported to 7.3 z-stream (EUS).
