Description of problem: [RFE] Clarification of rhsm usage on redhat-virtualization-host Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable): redhat-virtualization-host-4.0-20161007.0.x86_64 subscription-manager: 1.17.15-1.el7 python-rhsm: 1.17.9-1.el7 How reproducible: always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Install redhat-virtualization-host-4.0-20161007.0.x86_64. 2. Register and auto-attach rhv against stage candlepin: [root@hp-z220-15 ~]# subscription-manager register --auto-attach Registering to: subscription.rhsm.stage.redhat.com:443/subscription Username: new_test Password: The system has been registered with ID: 7aa0d64b-3844-41b6-ba0a-547c534fb944 Installed Product Current Status: Product Name: Red Hat Enterprise Linux Server Status: Subscribed Product Name: Red Hat Virtualization Host Status: Subscribed 3. Execute some entitlement functions: 1) [root@hp-z220-15 ~]# subscription-manager release --show Release not set [root@hp-z220-15 ~]# subscription-manager release --list No release versions available, please check subscriptions. 2) [root@hp-z220-15 ~]# yum repolist Loaded plugins: imgbased-warning, product-id, search-disabled-repos, subscription-manager Warning: yum operations are not persisted across upgrades! repolist: 0 [root@hp-z220-15 ~]# subscription-manager repos --list Repositories disabled by configuration. [root@hp-z220-15 ~]# subscription-manager repo-override --list Repositories disabled by configuration. This system does not have any content overrides applied to it. Actual results: As step 3. No clear clarification explains that these scenarios are not fit for rhv. Expected results: A clarification of rhsm usage should prompts for rhv, like 'This is a rhv system which does not support this module' Additional info:
After evaluating this issue, there are no plans to address it further or fix it in an upcoming release. Therefore, it is being closed. If plans change such that this issue will be fixed in an upcoming release, then the bug can be reopened.
